'Unmute Us!' is a protest march against the restrictions placed upon the Music and Events industry by the Dutch Government in the response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Hundreds of thousands of people have been kept on 'mute' and now they demand that events can take place again immediately under the conditions of Testing for Access, at full capacity. 'Unmute us!' felt it was time to break the silence - in September they held a protest march in Amsterdam and other places, to draw attention to the events sector that has been so heavily effected. I decided I wanted to capture the emotion of this event, so I followed the march obtaining vantage points where possible to photograph the action - at one point I even climbed a tree to get the best overview possible.
